RWAS Smallholders Show 2008

We took a selection of pigs and sheep to this year show which proved to be very busy with showing on both days.

We had a very succesful show with our sheep picking up Continental breed Champion sheep with one of our Beltex yearling ewes, one 1st, three 2nds and two third placed prizes with our Beltex, Polled dorsets and Southdowns.

We managed to pick up a 3rd place with one of our sows called Kipper, which was a good achievement considering she only had her litter weaned 4 weeks ago and it was a large class with some good sows on display. Our other sow Theresa was also in the same class but was unplaced, Teresa had her litter weaned 3 weeks ago and is recovering well and fattening up nicely, hopefully she will go on to be succesful over the rest of the show season.

We where pleased to also pick up two 2nd place prizes in the pork pig classes. We took second in both the individual and pairs class for heavy pork pigs.

Next up is the Three Counties show in Malvern where we will be taking pigs, we will let you know how we get on. If you are going to the show then please come and say hello.
