The week started with our Welsh boar in his class, he did ok winning a 3rd place in a large class and it was the first time he has been beaten in 18 months. It was his last time with us as he is now in his new home with Andrew Davies, Triarl Mawr Herd in Llanon Aberystwyth.

In the  afternoon it was the turn of the Large Whites in the modern breed classes which had the most competition for many a year.

First out was our senior boar "Prince". He won his class against some strong competition from the Landrace boars and the Pietrain. Second up was "Monty" our January born boar (for sale). He went on to win his class. Then it was on to the females. First up was "Beryl" she beat the Pietrains to win her class, and was then followed by her two daughters who took first and second in their class.

Male Championship was won by "Prince" with the landrace boar in reserve.

Female Champion was won by "Beryl" with the landrace again in reserve.

It was then onto the Modern breed Championship. What a shock it was to win the Championship with "Beryl" and "Prince" to win reserve. Its the second year running "Beryl" has won this Championship.

It was then onto the PAirs and Group of 3 classes which we went on to win aswell ro round off a fantastic day.

Tuesday was Traditional pig day. Our Berkshire gilt took 5th in her large class and did well, if only her sister had been entered we may have come a bit higher up!

Wednesday was an early start, 8am sharp for the Interbreed Supreme Championships. First in was "Prince" in the Male Supreme Championship against the best boars from each section. It was very close but the lovely Middle White boar won it with "Prince" in reserve.

Next up was the females with Beryl. It was a strong class with each female having won their Sections, so the udge decided this would be the Supreme Champion aswell. The Tamworth sow looked good as did the Saddleback and the Welsh in aswell.

It was very hard fought but in the end the Judge awarded to "Beryl" the Royal Welsh 2010 Supreme Interbreed Champion and Female Champion. What a fantastic award to a young sow who really showed off on the day in such a strong class. We are over the moon and what a show to win your First Interbreed in, our Local big show, The Royal Welsh!
